Dongargarh Chandragiri, nestled in the Chhattisgarh district, is predominantly inhabited by tribal communities. In past, this region boasted a thriving handloom industry, but today, it has dwindled to near extinction. In this challenging scenario, Guruvar revitalised the indigenous art and handloom sector by bestowing blessings upon the Chal-Charkha Centre. Through its endeavours, Chal-Charkha has significantly eased the lives of tribal women by offering employment opportunities.

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

Operational within Pratibhasthali, Jabalpur, the Chal-Charkha Women’s Handloom Training Center spearheads the production of non-violent and eco-friendly clothing and exquisite crafts, perpetuating the rich heritage of Bharatiya craftsmanship.

Karopani, Madhya Pradesh

Karopani village, nestled in the rocky mountains of Dindori district, Madhya Pradesh, faced severe economic hardships due to the absence of viable agricultural opportunities. Consequently, women from the village were compelled to migrate in search of livelihoods. To alleviate their plight, the “Chal-Charkha Women Training and Employment Centre” was inaugrated. Presently, approximately 150 women are employed here, leading contented lives and contributing to their community’s prosperity.

Ramtek, Maharashtra

Ramtek is a religious city with its golden history. Here, rural women are trained in handloom and wood crafts and attractive products are made here.The Chal-Charkha Center has made a significant contribution to social and economic upliftment by empowering women in Ramtek through vocational training in handloom and zardozi work.

Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh

At the Pratibhasthali courtyard of Lalitpur, women receive hands-on training in traditional cloth-making techniques using handlooms, which not only preserves cultural heritage but also provides them with valuable skills for self-reliance and economic independence. Additionally, the centre offers training in zardozi, an intricate embroidery technique, further enhancing their craft and employment prospects.

Khargapur, Madhya Pradesh

Khargapur is a city located in Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. Here, the women were given training in spinning yarn and then amber-charkhas were given at their home through Chal-Charkha Centre. Today this entire village is skilled in spinning yarn. Spinning even the finest yarn of high quality is an easy task for them. The women here feel very proud by Spinning Khadi yarn.

Naari Chhattisgarh, is known for Rice cultivation and ballast mines. The women here are very hardworking. Operating a handloom as compared toworking in mines is very comfortable and relaxing for them. Under the inspiration of the most revered Acharya Guruvar Shri Vidya Sagar Ji Maharaj, along with Handlooms , delicate and astonishing hand work is done here on sarees with Aari-zardozi.

While on one hand people in Himachal Pradesh are living with the help of quilts in the snow covered valleys, on the other hand the women weavers of Chal-Charkha are easily able to feed their families with the help of handlooms, overcoming the severe cold, Henceliving a better life.

Tihar Jail, Delhi

Once imprisoned within the confines of Delhi’s Tihar Jail, the women inmates often find their spirits dimmed by the weight of incarceration. However, “Chal-Charkha Women Training and Employment Centre” that operates under the auspices of Guruvar Shri Vidyasagar Ji Maharaj, rekindles a beacon of hope within the prison’s thick walls, where even sunlight fails to penetrate. Foreign prisoners too find profound happiness and fulfilment in acquiring this traditional Bhartiya skill. With a steady source of income within the confines of the Jail, they are able to provide support to their family members.

In order to revive the dying art in this area of ​​Bundelkhand and to enable women to live a respectable life, a handloom center was started in Rahatgarh with blessings of Acharya . Through this, the weavers are able to support not only themselves but also their families.

In the scenic locale of Shikharji, situated in Jharkhand state, the absence of viable income streams had cast a shadow of desolation over the hilly terrain. However, with Guruji’s benevolent blessings, the landscape underwent a transformation. Women trainees are also choosing the lifestyle of lifelong vegetarianism.
